The site is located in a conservation area and in the grounds of a listed building. There had been previous planning history resisting development on the site, particularly due to the copse that had existed. Following a lengthy planning process permission was eventually won on appeal.
The house is designed to echo the style of the Vicotorian coach houses which serve the pavilions along Clifton Drive
Additional living space was achieved with a basement which grow from a wine cellar concept.
