HISTORY
The business was originally founded in 1989 by the current Managing Director David Hadwin trading as Keystone Design Consultants. The company grew steadily over the next decade despite the recession years, and was incorporated in 1998 as Keystone Design Associates Limited.
Based on the Fylde coast the company operates predominantly in the North West of England, though has projects through out the UK and France although we have travelled as far a field as St Lucia.
The company originally specialized as a structural engineer consultancy, though through business development and new people coming into the business the types of projects and services became diversified. Traditionally architects and engineers were appointed separately by clients, which resulted in a certain amount of project inertia resulting in lost time and costs. It was David’s intentions to harmonize this process and treat building design as a holistic process so that the building is designed from concept stage for aesthetics integrating buildability with economics. Resulting in good looking architecture, that meets the client’s budget requirements whilst being practical. Consequently Keystone Design Associates Ltd soon adopted a full range of building design services catering for all the client’s professional services needs from concept to completion – a phrase that is now somewhat a cliché.

We moved into Development House in 2004 providing a permanent base for the company. In 2018 planning approval was gained from Blackpool Council to modernize the office to form a fresh contemporary space to inspire us and provide a place to be proud to belong.
